A teal ground woven through with large-scale gold floral scroll work forms the upper and lower panels, while a wide band of deep royal blue runs through the centre, its own subtle gold diagonal stripe visible beneath. The effect is unmistakably reminiscent of a sari — a decorative woven field meeting a contrasting solid border — which is exactly where the inspiration comes from.
